There are many articles on the creation of a world: how to build a universe, to make alive its characters. We could debate it for hours, explain the different methodologies. The most of the \u201crecipes\u201d suggest drawing one step by step, according to a precise and logical pattern. This is not suitable for every artist\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And why not build a world from a grain of sand<\/strong> ?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The idea may be, on the face of it, completely absurd and yet\u2026 against all logic, that\u2019s what I did!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Les grains de sable : \u00e7a ne s\u2019empile pas, on parle de briques ! Tout \u00e0 fait. C\u2019est absolument chaotique\u2026 Ce n\u2019est ni \u00eatre architect<\/em>cannot be gardener<\/em> : indeed, it is both, or neither.<\/p>\n

In his book \u00abThe Writer\u2019s Journey\u00bb (besides the famous monomyth<\/a> of Campbell), Christopher Vogler speaks of the writer as a \u201cshaman\u201d (excerpt from the chapter \u201cThe Author\u2019s Journey\u201d):<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026 with the magical power to bottle these worlds and bring them back as stories to share with others\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

I loved the way he presented things! It was exactly how I felt. A connection between an imaginary world and our own world. As a child, I opened all the cupboards, hoping to find a way to the White Witch's kingdom.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Does anyone never aspire to enter a portal to another universe? Escape. Dream. We all need to steal that time from our daily lives, but instead of turning the hourglass, let's break it. <\/p>\n

Let\u2019s get the sand<\/a>.<\/p>\n
