Imperium is the dynasty that mingled with the Aithereans, the Descendants of the Sidh : Aither.
The use of the elemental magic of the entity is greatly facilitated.
The line is named afterAither'sid (devoted to Aither) and has the role of regent of the city.

The first Imperatrix was chosen from among the Natives who accepted the Covenant of Divinities.
The Sidhs gave it the name of Aletheia, a word meaning “Truth”.
She is described as a devoted and caring woman who was committed to helping others.
According to legend, fascinated by its light, the Aithérean Helios would have chosen her as his companion.
He would fall in love with her much later. It is said that when he died, the Descendant would have withered.

When appointing the Imperator or Imperatrix, he or she takes an oath of protection to her/his people, the Aes'sidh (or Aessi) and to the Sidhs. He or she is supposed to enforce the laws of the Covenant.
It is usually the first born, regardless of gender. The second born is offered to the Sidhs Temple to take over the Primum. He will become the Primus or she will become the Prima and must not have any descendants (this does not prevent him or her from having a companion).

Imperia is a crystal jewel, similar to a kind of diadem, simple tiara, adorning the forehead of the suzerain. The word is sometimes used instead of the word “Imperium” (it is an abuse of language designating the power in place by visual ornament).
The color of the Imperium is blue, in reference to the tutelary deity of the Aessi.

The Sidh Trinity :
Seiren, the nurse, associated with water. The entity is represented as a busty woman pouring water, either by means of a jar, or by putting her hands in cup.
Aither, the scholar, associated with the wind. The divinity is represented as an old bearded man, holding against his bust an object representing knowledge and wisdom (a parchment or book, sometimes a stylus).
Vulkan, the judge, associated with the earth, is represented as a severe warrior, carrying a long sword.

The Arts :
The Arts use natural energy, it is a kind of sacred magic halfway between Druidism and Shamanism, except that it is the psychic force of the user that is used during a call to the Sidhs powers.

The Imperator-Commander Olethros, which we meet in the first volume «Origins». One cannot ordinarily combine the function of Imperator and that of Commander, yet he did.
