The Devoted are dedicated to Sidhs. They are religious, but their role doesn't end there. They are responsible for taking care of the inhabitants of Ambrosia, as well as their well-being.

As soon as a nonoffensive power is manifested (in general, a healing gift related to Seiren), the Aessi child is offered to the Temple to follow the education. His/her life will then be "devoted" to others. He or she will have to care for, cultivate medicinal plants and acquire skills as a herbalist and apothecary. He will also have to take care of the remains : wash them and prepare them for their passage in the underground world of the chtonian Vulkan.

Some experienced ones turn to teaching and follow the precepts of the sage Aither. The Temple is intended to learn the basics of reading, writing and mathematics. The Aes'sidhs use the term: Elder to describe the know-how and expertise accumulated over the years of practice.

The rank is ostensibly displayed and differs according to the color of their dress. Novices are adorned with a pale dress, the Elders will wear gray, green is reserved for the patriarch or matriarch (the Primus, or the Prima), usually from imperial blood.

The colors have a special meaning for the Aessi people. The imperial color is blue, associated with Aither, guardian deity of the Aes'sidhs. Orange color is associated with Vulkan, green color is associated with Seiren. White is considered the absence of color and carries a notion of birth, purity, inexperience while brown, associated with a superposition of colors, evokes death, impurity. Grey color is rather neutral.
