Location
Predator living in the desert plains near Sapientia.
Physiognomy
A small carnivore (less than a metre). It looks like an elongated-skull bird, sometimes with an erectile crest. Without wings, the raptor can also have some feathers. The brownish plumage on its body allows it to camouflage easily. Its long straight tail ends in one arrow.
Its forelegs are short, devoid of feathers most of the time (some individuals have retained pennes). Its hind legs are adorned with a reaper-shaped prominent claw which allows it to stab its prey.
Behaviour
The raptor hunts in packs. Each member attacks by jumping, with its hind legs, in turn until exhausting the prey. The prey is often eaten half alive.
Anecdote
Known for their formidable intelligence, raptors have long considered the Sapiens their personal pantry. The expression «to throw oneself under the claws of the raptor » is entered in the common usage for sapiens.
